OUR PROCESS
If you’ve suffered trauma, you’ve been thrust into a storyline you did not choose. We can help you rewrite your life’s narrative. Your path to recovery may have great trials, but it will lead to great transformation.
1. Answering the Call
“Those who refuse the call, continue to live their lives cast in the role of the victim” (Lawson). There comes a point when the risk of an unlived life is greater than the risk of reliving what happened.
2. Facing the Demons
The only way out, is through. Our trauma therapists will be your steadfast guides as you confront your pain, arming you with powerful skills and insights to transcend your trauma and reclaim your life.
3. Returning Home
The final stage is one of restoration and rebirth. With the strength and wisdom you’ve gained, we’ll help you rebuild your life and relationships, and live in a way that honours your truest, fullest self.
OUR APPROACH
We can’t erase your trauma, but therapy can turn it from a raw open wound to a healed scar—no longer sensitive to the touch. Here’s how:
EMDR
This extensively researched technique uses eye movement to physically activate the part of your brain that processes trauma, in order to release the emotional grip is has on you. In just a few sessions, what feels deeply distressing now will seem like a faded memory, and you’ll finally be able to rise above what happened.
Internal Family Systems
Trauma can cause us to disown parts of ourselves in order to cope, but we cannot truly move forwards if those parts of us are left behind. IFS is a form of psychotherapy that helps us reclaim and befriend the parts of us that are scared, ashamed and angry, so that we can live as our beautifully whole selves.
Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy helps us get unstuck from the destructive thought patterns and behaviors relating to trauma. It gives us the awareness and tools we need to disrupt these vicious emotional cycles, so that we can regain sovereignty of our inner worlds, and make more empowered choices.
