  • GRIEF

  • DIVORCE

  • TRAUMA

  • ABUSE

  • PORN

our process

Teens and their unique needs are often lost in our fast-paced world. They are bombarded with media, opinions, information, and possibilties. We listen to how all of this impacts your teen and give them tools to thrive as an adult.

1. ESTABLISH TRUST

We use something called “motivational interviewing” to help your teenager identify his or her personal goals for therapy, so that he or she becomes an invested and willing participant in each session.

2. OPEN COMMUNICATION

Your teen will practice sharing openly, even outside of therapy. They will develop healthy, easy-going communication with family, teachers, and peers.

3. BUILD RESILIENCE

Your teen will take ownership of their feelings and what they choose to do with them. Equipped with new emotional skills, your teen will navigate challenges with more courage and resilience.

our approach

Our therapists have backgrounds in foster care agencies, charter schools, and churches. We meet your teen where they are at and draw on their existing strengths to develop self-compassion and confidence.

Dialogue vs Dictate

We don’t tell your teen what to do. We empower them to think with more insight and maturity. Open-ended questions help your teen make good choices based on their personal goals and values. This sets them up to succeed even when a parent isn’t around.

Mindfulness

Emotions and trauma affect the body just as much as the brain! Mindfulness exercises calm the body’s fight-or-flight response, so your teen can remain grounded when things get hard or painful memories surface.

Family Therapy

While we love doing one-on-one therapy with teens, sometimes the whole family needs to come together for deeper change to happen. Our team of therapists can help you find the right approach to your situation.
