For Christians, our primary relationship is with God, and that greatly impacts how we view the world, ourselves, and each other.

My Passion

I discovered my passion for therapy while working in education–first as a bilingual elementary school teacher, and later as a homeschool mom. In both contexts, I found myself drawn more to relationships and conflict resolution than the actual curriculum. So once my two daughters grew up, I went back to school for a counseling degree.

In my free time, I have a rather eclectic mix of hobbies. One day you might find me curled up with my cats reading a book or crocheting. The next day I might be hitting the open road on my motorcycle.

My Approach

I previously worked with families and kids at Father Joe’s Villages in downtown San Diego. While I do love working with individuals, working with families as a whole is a particular passion. I often use play therapy to help children express themselves, so that everyone has a voice.

I also rely heavily on “Attachment Theory” and “Emotionally Focused Family Therapy.” Both of these are types of therapy that emphasize that we are part of a network of relationships. Those relationships have influenced where we are now (good and bad) and are important to consider as we seek healing.
